Agriculture / University of Kirkuk / Shuraw, for studying the effect of compound fertilizer and calcium silicates on the growth of gerbera and the percentage of powdery mildew infection , The experiment consisted of two factors, the first compound fertilizer and included five Levels of NPK Prosol (20: 20: 20) balanced fertilizer are: (control, NPK 1 gm.pot-1, Nano-NPK 1 gm.pot-1, Nano-NPK 0.75 gm.pot-1, Nano-NPK 0.50 gm.pot-1) dissolved in 150 ml distilled water, and the second factor is fertilization with calcium silicate and at three levels (control, 1.5, 3) g.pot-1, and the experiment was designed as a experiment factorial with three replicates according to the Randomized Completely Block Design , The results showed that an addition of Nano-NPK at the level of 0.50 g.potˉ ˡ resulted in a significant increase in the following vegetative characteristics (number of offshoots 2 .31offshoots. Plant 1-, weight wet of the vegetative total 23.86 g) compared Treated Non addition.
As for the addition of 1 g. Pot ˉ ˡ Nano-NPK has caused a significant increase in the vegetative characteristics (dry weight of the vegetative total 5.415 g) compared Treated Non addition .
The treatment of adding calcium silicate at a high concentration of 3 g.pot -1 had a significant effect in increasing each of (number of leaves 8.77 leaves .plant-1, number of offshoots 2.50 off shoots.plant-1 , leaf area 762.27 cm², wet weight for the vegetative total 24.15 g) compared to control treatment.
And the reason for my concentration of adding calcium silicate was to control the absence of powdery mildew disease compared with the non-addition treatment, which gave the incidence of 5.4%.
