The Time Period of Reviewing Process

KUJAS uses a double-blind peer review process. Manuscripts are typically evaluated by a minimum of two independent expert reviewers. The time required may vary depending on reviewer availability, the complexity of the manuscript, and the speed of author revisions.

Important: Similarity reports support editorial assessment, but the similarity percentage alone does not determine acceptance or rejection.

Typical Timeline

Once a manuscript is received, the editorial office and/or editor performs an initial assessment for scope and compliance with journal instructions.

  • Initial editorial screening: typically about 1 week.
  • Reviewer invitation and confirmation: reviewers are contacted before review begins.
  • Peer review period: reviewers are normally requested to return comments within 2 weeks for most papers.
  • Reminder if delayed: if reviews are late, a reminder may be sent and an additional short period may be allowed.
  • Author revision: reviewer comments are sent to the author; revised manuscripts are typically requested within 2 weeks (depending on the revision type).
  • Final assessment and decision: the editor evaluates revisions and makes the final decision on acceptance or rejection.
  • Notification: authors are notified of the editorial decision through the journal system.
  • Publication: accepted papers proceed to production and are scheduled for publication in an upcoming issue.
Final decision: The editor is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles. The editorial decision is final.
