Complaints & Appeals Policy

Complaints and Appeals Policy

KUJAS is committed to handling complaints and appeals in a fair, transparent, and timely manner.

Policy Statement

The Kirkuk University Journal for Agricultural Sciences (KUJAS) is committed to handling complaints and appeals fairly, transparently, and within a reasonable timeframe. Authors, reviewers, readers, and other stakeholders may submit complaints related to editorial procedures, peer review, publication ethics, corrections, or published content.

Complaints

Complaints may relate to editorial decisions, peer review, publication ethics, corrections, or published content.

All complaints must be submitted in writing via the official journal email to the editorial office.

The complaint should include the complainant’s name, contact information, manuscript title or DOI if applicable, and a clear description of the issue.

Appeals

Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a justified request with supporting evidence.

Appeals against editorial decisions must provide a scientific justification explaining why the author believes the decision should be reconsidered.

Important: Appeals that merely disagree with reviewer comments without providing evidence will not be considered.

Process

  • The editorial office acknowledges receipt of the complaint or appeal within 5 working days.
  • The Editor-in-Chief assesses the complaint or appeal objectively.
  • The Editor-in-Chief may consult associate editors, editorial board members, reviewers, or external experts when needed.
  • A response is provided within a reasonable timeframe after assessment.

Final Decision

The final decision after appeal rests with the Editor-in-Chief.

KUJAS aims to respond to complaints and appeals within a reasonable period. Complex cases involving publication ethics may require additional time for investigation.
