Abstract
The research evaluated and compared the two modern types of parlours and milking robot with one stall, type lely astronaut, in order to make the milking process more economic.
The analysis of the results proved that there are differences between the two evaluated milking types.
It also appears that the parallel parlour in which the cows stand side by side 2x12 is more suitable in relation to the productivity which reached 107.2 cows/hour, and the consumed time for the human work in different process thus reached 58.1 second, while the productivity of the herringbone parlours 2x8 reached 87.1 cow/ hour and the time needed in the process of milking was 85.5 second. Furthermore the production of milking robot was 79 cows per day without human effort. It was noticed that the reduction of time spent for different processes can be achieved through the suitable labour organization and integrated technical solutions.
The automatic milking systems and parlours are still the most effective means of getting milk and when applying them, the operating results should be considered in the farms. It is of prime importance to choose the suitable field that is capable of milking the biggest number of cattle during the shortest period of time and with less possible human effort as well as with the lowest production cost per liter of milk.
