Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the effect of seed size (small , medium , large and mixed) and plant density (300 and 400 seeds/m2)on growth and physiochemical properties of three bread wheat varieties (Sham-6, Iraq , and Iz). Field experiment was conducted in 2009-2010 in two locations, Alsharkat 126 km south mosul and Ninava governorate using RCBD design. The results illustrated that the plants grown from large and medium seeds were superior in most growth and physiochemical traits in both locations, while those grown from small seeds surpassed in protein%. Plant density affect most these characters in Alsharkat while seed dimensions decreased in high density, The varieties differ in most growth and physiochemical chara- cters except test weight in both locations. The second order interactions have a significant effect in some traits.
